On Migration Card
In accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 413 of August 16, 2004 «On Immigration card», a foreign national entering the Russian Federation is required to fill in an immigration card and present it to an immigration officer at a check-point for official stamping, provided the data on the card is in compliance with the owner’s passport data.
Immigration cards are distributed free of charge at all ports of entry to the Russian Federation by immigration officers or organizations that offer transportation services to foreign nationals entering the Russian Federation.
A foreign national must carry the immigration card during the whole period of stay in the Russian Federation and submit it along with other documents for immigration registration at the place of sojourn.
In case of loss or damage of the immigration card a foreign national must notify an appropriate local office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation within three days. Provided that travel documents used to enter Russia are presented, a gratis duplicate card is issued.
When leaving the Russian Federation, a foreign national must submit the card to an immigration officer at a check-point.
