IX international Forum “Arctic: Today and the Future”
The IX international Forum “Arctic: Today and the Future”, organized by the “Association of Polar Explorers” (ASPOL) will be held in St. Petersburg on December 5-7, 2019.
The Forum has established itself as authoritative discussion platform that contributes to solving relevant issues of development of the Arctic at various levels via dialogue with civil society. The event has received support from the Government Commission regarding to development of the Arctic regions, the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, various federal ministries and departments, public authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
More than 2500 delegates representing 40 regions of the Russian Federation and 20 countries are expected to participate.
The exhibition will demonstrate projects and technologies for the socio-economic and technological development of the modern Arctic, as well as the lifestyle of the population of the Arctic territories. The largest Russian companies which operate in the Arctic and also Russian regions will present their projects in the exposition area.
The annual results of the Arctic public agenda will be summed up at the end of the Forum, and the “Final public resolution on practical issues of socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and related infrastructure” for 2019 will be released at the beginning of next year.
