The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia under the direction of Maestro Yuri Bashmet performed in Singapore

On September 12, 2018 the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia under the direction of its founder, internationally acclaimed musician and conductor Maestro Yuri Bashmet presented a concert at the Cultural Centre Hall of the National University of Singapore. The Orchestra performed pieces by Peter Tchaikovsky, Antonio Vivaldi and Dmitry Shostakovich as well as by modern Russian composer Kuzma Bodrov. The event has become a part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Singapore (June 1, 1968) and was attended by Sam Tan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Social and Family Development, and Andrey Tatarinov, Russian Ambassador to Singapore. Young Russian musicians were warmly welcomed by the guests including many Russian compatriots and local music circles.
