Information for foreigners planning to visit Russia
We recall that when applying for a Russian visa, the citizens of Schengen Area Member States (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland), Ireland and Israel are required to provide insurance policies covering the medical costs and (or) reimbursing medical expenses. Polices issued by foreign companies, which signed a reinsurance contract with Russian insurance organizations, as well as those issued by foreign companies, which do not have any reinsurance contracts (and/or a contract with an assistant company), providing compensation for medical treatment expenses carried in Russia only after the insured person's return to the country of residence, both match the abovementioned criteria.
