On a port call of the Russian Pacific Fleet’s squadron to Singapore
On November 27, 2018 the Russian Pacific Fleet’s flagship guard missile cruiser Varyag, large anti-submarine warfare ship Admiral Panteleyev and large sea-going tanker Boris Butoma arrived in Changi Naval Base, Singapore for a port call. On November 28 Russian Ambassador to Singapore Andrey Tatarinov visited
the cruiser Varyag where he took part in the official welcoming ceremony and addressed the Pacific Fleet sailors with a greeting speech. The day before, Ambassador Tatarinov met with Commander of the squadron, Rear Admiral Eduard Mikhailov, Commander of the cruiser Varyag, Capitan Alexey Ulianenko, and Commander of Admiral Panteleyev, Capitan Dmitry Tikhomirov. They discussed prospects of cooperation between the naval fleets of Russia and Singapore including in the framework of the international maritime exercises in the region.
